Google has made significant improvements to its AI chatbot Bard, introducing exciting new features that include image recognition and voice responses. The update comes as part of Bard’s comprehensive overhaul, marking the first major update in a while and expanding its reach into Europe and Brazil while addressing privacy concerns. Additionally, Bard now supports additional languages and offers enhanced productivity and personalization features.

Users can now engage in conversations with Bard in multiple languages, including Arabic, Chinese, German, Hindi, and Spanish. Furthermore, accessibility to the platform has been extended to more locations globally, including Brazil and various regions within Europe. However, availability in Canada, previously excluded due to regulatory reasons, has yet to be confirmed.

In addition to expanded language support and global availability, Google has introduced new features to enhance user experience and productivity within Bard. Notably, users can now enjoy customized responses in a more immersive way through Bard’s ability to read responses out loud.

Whether users desire to hear the correct pronunciation of a word or experience the recital of a poem or script, they can simply enter a prompt and select the sound icon to hear Bard’s answer. Furthermore, users can adjust the tone and style of Bard’s responses, tailoring the interaction to their preferences, whether it be simple, long, short, professional, casual, and more.

To further enhance productivity, Bard has integrated four new features:

  • Conversation Pinning and Renaming: Users can now save and revisit previous prompts by selecting the pin option, facilitating easy access to valuable chat history.
  • Export code to more places: Python code can now be exported to Replit, broadening code-sharing capabilities.
  • Share Answers with Friends: Bard generates shareable links that users can send to others to showcase their interactive conversations with Bard.
  • Use images for prompts: Bard can now analyze images using Google Lens. Users can explore detailed information about images and request captions, opening up new possibilities for creative prompts and inquiries.

The notable improvements made to Bard, including image recognition and voice responses, further solidify Google’s commitment to advancing conversational AI technology while empowering users with enhanced productivity and personalization features.
