Google Introduces AI-Powered Search Experience in the US

AI Google Search

Google has officially launched its AI-powered search experience, known as Google Search Generative Experience (SGE), in the United States. The company made the announcement earlier today, inviting users to sign up for the waiting list and await their turn to access the new feature.

SGE was first unveiled at the Google I/O 2023 conference held earlier this month. This innovative search experience brings conversational AI to the traditional search process. Unlike other search engines, Google integrates AI capabilities directly into its familiar search bar, eliminating the need for a separate chatbot field. The generated AI results are presented in a shaded section above the standard web search results, just below the search bar and sponsored content. Users can tap a button below each result to ask follow-up questions, while an additional button in the upper right corner allows for a closer look at the snapshot of the information.

Google describes these snapshots as “important information to consider and links to dig deeper.” It seamlessly incorporates the Bard AI technology into the familiar Google search experience, enhancing users’ ability to find relevant and comprehensive information.

In addition to SGE, Google is also granting access to other Search Labs features, such as Code Tips and Add to Sheets. Currently available only in the US, Code Tips offers a faster and smarter way for developers to get answers to programming-related queries. It supports programming languages like C, C++, Go, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Python, and TypeScript, as well as tools like Docker, Git, and shell. On the other hand, Add to Sheets enables users to directly insert search results into Google’s spreadsheet application. By tapping the Sheets icon beside the search results, users can choose from a list of recently created documents and attach the desired results.

As Google continues to leverage AI technology to enhance search experiences, users can anticipate more advanced features and improvements to assist them in finding the information they need quickly and efficiently.
